Amnio

Today I woke up pretty nervous about the amniocentesis. It was actually one of the easiest most pain free test I have ever had. I didn't feel a thing. The Doctor didn't believe me that I didn't feel anything. The sono measured Lucy at 37 weeks I am 36 weeks now. It also said she was about 6 lb 9 oz. After the test I got monitored for 30 mins to see if Lucy was doing okay and if I was contracting. I did have 3 contractions while on the monitor, but they were to far apart. Lucy was moving around like crazy like she always does, so I was good to go home for the day.

I called the hospital this evening to see if the results for the amino were good. They said the numbers looked good. So her lungs should be ready for the real world. We are good to go for Lucy's arrival on Monday.

The rest of the weekend we plan on relaxing!!! We will have our last few days of sleeping in, and we plan on enjoying it. It is hard to believe this is the last weekend it will be just Kat and Dustin. Come Monday it will be Kat, Dustin and Lucy!!! We are so excited for this new chapter in our lives and to be the best parents we can be!

Thanks everyone for your thoughts and prayers!

baby room

As per request from my cousin Leah, she asked for baby room pictures. The pictures are not that great, but I did my best to capture it. I have not put anything on the walls and we still want to get curtains to hang. So it is still a work in progress. As far as changing table and having the bed ready, they are good to go, and I figure the most important things. She won't be able to notice the walls for awhile anyway, right? I think I plan on printing out some pictures we took at the San Diego zoo and having them on the walls. Not really sure yet though. We have a lot of wall space to work with and it intimidates me.
I also have taken a picture of me today at 35 weeks and 6 days.

Blogging for my Mother

Okay...MOM!!! Upon your request I will do my best to start a blog. I really don't have much to say, and I feel I am terrible at writing it down. I will give it a good ol' try for my mother, so she can share this with friends and our family.

Dustin and I have been settled in Sunny San Diego for over a month now, and are anticipating Miss Lucy's birthday!! We love our new apartment aside from the parking it really is a great place. So close to everything!! We are just right across the highway from the San Diego Charges Stadium. Which means I must have a schedule of games so we will know when to stay home. I have organized Lucy's room and I think everything is prepared for her arrival.

A week ago I went to the doctor, and we have determined that I will be having a scheduled Csection. August 24th!!! I will be 36 weeks and 4 days at that point in the pregnancy. The rest of this week will be a busy one. We have to figure out how to put in the car seat and how to operate, Dr. appointment on Wed., and fetal testing on Friday.

Everyone has asked are you nervous, or excited. My answer is all of the above and all kinds of other emotions!! Both Dustin and I are ready as we can be for her arrival. It's hard to believe we are about to become parents, and we are both very excited for this new chapter in our life's.

I will do my best to keep up with this blog, and will post pictures and video the best I can. No guarantees though.
